Sheriff's Office Reports
April, 2008
Mark H. Luttrell, Jr. Sheriff
Dear Fellow Citizen,
It gives me great pleasure to bring you a progress report of our accomplishments this past year. The two thousand men and women of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office have dedicated themselves to bringing the department to new levels of service and dedication.

You can view two versions of our accomplishments. For the highlights of the year, “Executive Summary of the 2007 Annual Report” is available as an Adobe PDF file. For a full detailed report, view the “2007 Annual Report”.
In these documents, you’ll see where crime occurred in 2007 and how, through crime tracking and analysis, we’ve addressed it. You’ll also learn how we’ve curbed violence at the Shelby County Jail and for the first time in more than a decade our jail has met State of Tennessee certification standards.
We’re making progress at all levels of the department. We’re now using “key indicator meetings” to monitor our operations to ensure we use your tax dollars in the most effective way possible.
Finally, you’ll read about the work of our many divisions and support services and how they have made us an effective and efficient law enforcement agency for all citizens of Shelby County. Thank you for your ideas, suggestions and willingness to be a partner with us to help keep our community safe.
Sincerely,
Mark. H. Luttrell, Jr.
Shelby County Sheriff
